I’ve read about the whole incident. It was mortifying. And believe me I know. In all my years as a fan girl, I’ve seen quite a few dokkiri stuff and I thought SPYAIR’s was the worse (if any of you are fans of SPYAIR, you’ll know what I’m talking about, I feel so sorry for Enzel D:) I’ve also read the boards/threads. The Japanese fans really are ruthless, though I really am not surprised anymore. It’s disheartening to see someone who you like being an ass to someone who’s supposed to be their friend yes, but I do understand that these people are humans too. I’m trying to keep mum on this incident because I am a fan of some of the parties involved, especially Sugita and Terashima and I don’t want this incident to rip their friendship apart permanently. This event has escalated to such a scale that people even send death wishes to Terashima, he wasn’t part of the orchestration of the prank yes, but what he said was really harsh, then again, remember, he’s human too. Though I wish he remembered that he’s a public figure before he let out those comments and that someone (I’m looking at you, Boss Morikawa) talks sense into him.
I’m afraid to check the seiyuu tags because of what I might find, but from what I’ve seen so far, I’m guessing the fandom here in tumblr is more mature ww…
Also one more thing, that producer, he really is a bastard. If anyone deserves to feel the backlash of this whole incident, it’s him. I believe, he humiliated Kitamura Eri a few years back as well. I think these people has had fame gotten into their heads and so thinks that belittling upstarts is good. I can’t believe how easily they go and try to destroy someone’s career! I think Terashima and all the other seiyuus involved in this incident has just been in very, very bad company. I hope they realize this as well and stay away from eufonius if possible.
I commend Sugita very much for what he did, staying beside Ichiki, and I really hope that soon enough, Terashima feels remorse for what he said and apologizes. Though the damage has been done, and it’s pretty big, apologizing is the first step to fixing these strained friendships. I’m not going to stop being a fan of Terashima because of this incident, but I admit, he really let me down in this incident. I had very high hopes for him D:
I seriously hope that this incident doesn’t escalate to even more ruined friendships and worse, lawsuits… OAO and that something good comes out for Ichiki on this one. He seriously didn’t deserve that.
